PRIMAYA HOSPITAL MAKASSAR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: FREE circumcision SERVICES FOR 40 CHILDREN

Makassar, 24 June 2021 – Primaya Hospital Makassar organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by delivering free circumcision treatments to 40 children who live in the area around Primaya Hospital Makassar as a way of showing concern for the health of the surrounding community, particularly children’s health.

“We’re doing this CSR activity to encourage the public, especially parents, to teach their children that circumcision is very beneficial for their health as it keeps the male intimate organs clean, prevents sexually transmitted diseases, and prevents infection,” said Dr. Merry Monica, Director of Primaya Hospital Makassar.

Specialist doctors, general practitioners, and Primaya Hospital nurses who are skilled and experienced in their specialties perform the circumcision.

Dr. Merry Monica, Director of Primaya Hospital Makassar, noted that numerous things had to be arranged before the circumcision procedure could be carried out. “We performed an initial screening by examining the child’s physical condition as well as the cleanliness of his intimate organs. We also conduct an antigen examination for every child who is circumcised because we are in the midst of a pandemic,” said Dr. Merry Monica, Director of Primaya Hospital Makassar.

Following the circumcision, parents will receive education on how to heal wounds and keep circumcised wounds dry, as well as antibiotics and anti-pain medications.

We believe that by participating in this CSR activity, parents will be able to circumcise their sons before they reach puberty. “The age of circumcision is separated into two categories from a medical standpoint: before the age of one month and after the age of one month,” stated Dr. Merry Monica, Director of Primaya Hospital Makassar.
